Qadian The Blessing Land - Arrival (Chapter 1)

Jalsa Salana Qadian is the oldest Jalsa Salana in all over the World. Jalsa Salana is an Annual Convention, held by Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. 2018 was the 124th. After 2 years ago Ahmadiyya of Indonesia sent one full plane participants, this year about the 150 people landed in India, toward The Blessing Place, Qadian Darul Aman.

The Minaratul Masih in Qadian

I, together with the group, arrived in Amritsar at 11.00 a.m... That day was December, the 25th. There, Indonesian Murabbi
who’s studying in Jamiah Qadian welcomed us together with other committees.

This was the first time I stepped my foot on India. My first impression, I was grateful to stay in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. ‘Cause that time what I can see was barren land, horn in everywhere, a toll road with bad smell, and cows were wandering around.

It was too cold, the sun seemed there in sloppy south. Mln. Munirul Islam Shd., Murabbi of Indonesia who accompanied into the group, told the story about the historical places around there related on Hz. Masih Mau’ud a.s. era. He always gave us a message, “Your purpose to come here is for Jalsa Salana, swimming into a spiritual party, do dzikr as many as possible, shalawat, tasbih, tahmid, takbir, pray to our God.”

In Qadian, Ahmadi - the member of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community - lived side by side with Sikh harmoniously. That is information that I heard from Mln. Munir. At a glance, it seemed different, could be felt, either the environment, or the houses, or the aura here which the Ahmadi and the nor was. I thought, those who are controllable in using the horn, those are Ahmadi.

Adzan of Maghrib prayer filled the air. I recognized the cadence, it was similar to on Huzoor’s Friday Sermon one. The mosque that would be headed by me was the Mubarak Mosque or Aqsa Mosque. Hz. Masih Mauud used to pray very much at Mubarak Mosque or Baituz-Dzikr. The surrounding rooms were also used to be particular rooms: Baitud-dua, Baitul-Fikr, Baitur-Riyadhah, etc, where he used to pray, write, fast, recite Al-Quran, and dzikr. The Mosque surely had been full one hour before adzan. So, I went to Aqsa Mosque, where there Minaratul-Masih stands gloriously.

Police or Sikh people became security officer there. They wore a cream uniform, pagri on their head, tall body, firearms in the hand. There also were cars with a weapon on its top. And for addition, people walk fast towards the mosque. The scene was just in Assassin’s Creed world. My brain was full of silence at a thought of scary.

Before entering the mosque, people passed a bar-code check on each id card. Then, passing a security check, the pocket, the bag, all of them were checked. If there is unknown stuff, the officer would ask to explain and show it off. It was just like an airport security check.

In my opinion, Qadian seemed still as a village, dusty and misty. However Mln. Munir told us, “Don’t see Qadian from its appearance. It is a village, dusty, cold. But see! Here is the birthplace of blessing pearl, we are in spiritual vacation.”
